Hey there and welcome to Sidra & Co!
I don't really know what direction my blog is going to take but I am starting this journey with you by telling you more about myself for now.
Where am I from? I was born in Peshawar, Pakistan and after minor stints in Ireland, England and Pakistan, was raised in Canada. I grew up in Newfoundland, worked in Ottawa and now am living in Toronto. Phew. Oh, and I am married to a British/Pakistani Canadian.
What do I do? I am an economist by day and an artist by night. My passion for art started with painting acrylic landscapes and has since evolved into my own business, Sidra Art Boutique. I have a love for modern and minimalist designs, which I am sure overtime you will be able to tell from my products, fashion choices and home decor.
I absolutely love traveling. From the initial picking of a destination to the eventual exploring of that place, I find it all so exciting. And we haven't slowed down since having kids - we just take them along for the ride. Watch out for blog posts on some of my favourite places I have visited!
I am a romantic. I love Pakistani dramas, Indian Movies and old school Bollywood songs.
I married my husband, Talha, six years ago. He is a doctor by profession and a photographer by hobby, which means he makes a great Instagram husband ;) I have two beautiful sons (Yes, I am very outnumbered in my house) Z and Baby A. I picked up photography when Z was born in an attempt to somehow capture the beautiful moments of motherhood and his irresistible cuteness. I used Instagram to share some of those moments as well as a creative outlet for the artist in me. With time, I started to recognize how many connections I had made and that is why I finally decided to blog.
