Hey guys!
Hope you all are adjusting to the change in seasons! I can’t tell you guys how much I enjoy reading all your comments and messages. There are certain questions I get asked regularly on Instagram or on the blog that I thought would be fun to answer.
1. What is my ethnic background?
In a nutshell, I am Pakistani-Canadian. I was born in Peshawar, Pakistan. I moved to Ireland when I was two, England when I was 6 and back to Pakistan when I was 8. When I was 14, we moved to Canada’s east most city, St.John’s. I moved to Toronto after I got married and have been here ever since. As you can tell, I have moved around quite a bit, which is what makes the question, “where are you from?”, quite interesting to answer! All kidding aside, it genuinely has been a privilege to live in so many countries and cultures.
2. What is my favourite editing app?
I can’t emphasize how important editing is. Taking a great photograph, in my opinion, is 60% photograph and 40% distinctive editing. My current favourite editing apps are VSCO and Lightroom.
3. What languages do you speak?
I speak Pashto, Urdu and English fluently. I can read Arabic, but I can’t speak it. Also, despite several valiant attempts, French has alluded me so far!
4. How do I balance everything?
I am an economist by day, and artist by night. As you all know by now, I am also a mother to two beautiful boys, A and Z. So, how do I balance it all? If motherhood has taught me anything, it is focus on quality time, and not quantity of time. Because I have such little time to myself, I make sure to use it effectively, and do things I value. I make short and long term goals for myself, and then I take one day at a time. As children are unpredictable, my week turns into an interesting mix of productive and not so productive days. That really is the beauty of it though. Days that are sunny, call for a day in a park and ice cream. Days that the kids are sick, we cuddle. And days when the universe comes together for me to work, I take full advantage!
5. How did I meet my husband?
I am such a romantic <3. I love hearing how people met their partners. Each story is unique and magical in its own way! What is our story? My dad and my husband’s father were roommates in university, and our families have been close for decades. But I hadn't met my would-be husband in years. With a little matchmaking help from our parents, we started chatting online and a few weeks later, I got a call from a guy with a very nice British accent - the rest is history ;)
That is It for me! Comment below or message me telling me more about yourself!
